Lovely! I’ve seen many Batonis but I am a stranger to some of these portraits. Thank you for sharing!

I find it interesting that “Diana” and the Duchess of Gloucester are wearing the same brooch. I know what some painters had sets or costumes they put on multiple models, but surely a duchess wouldn’t need a loaner…

I love the colors though! Thanks for sharing.

I hadn’t noticed that! Maybe it’s because they’re both wearing “fantasy outfits” that might more likely have been supplied by the painter, or the unknown lady is a relative of the duchess. Actually, they appear to be wearing the same cape with golden chain as well.

Hello Johanna,

Have you seen the beautiful photographs (as you like them) of the new campaign for the luxury shoes Louboutin ? One is for your blog.

You can see them here : http://www.publiz.net/2011/06/28/chaussures-loubo…

I have seen them! The 18th century one is really pretty, but as the clothes aren’t actually accurate 18th century clothes I haven’t featured it on the blog.

And what about this exhibition this summer at the Grand Trianon, Versailles ?
