What a lovely, vibrant blue gown. It almost looks like a changeable taffeta.
On a side note, I just found out that Christie’s recently auctioned off the alliance rings of the wife of the Duc de Chartres. Can you imagine such an intimate object, with so much history connected, ending up on the auction block? Sort of like one’s gowns…

Oh - that is gorgeous!!! I’ve been looking at some taffeta in a colour like this, but was wondering if it was ‘period’… Now I’ve seen this, I think I definitely have to get some (when I can afford to!). Thank you so much for posting this pic and link!
