Fastes de cour at Versailles

I just returned from a short trip to Paris where I visited the Fastes de cour exhibition at Versailles. It was an amazing exhibition and I was particularly happy to see a Russian court dress and the most beautiful yellow redingote.
Click the photo above to go to a Flickr set containing my photos from the exhibition, plus some more from Versailles and the Petit Trianon.
Edit: The exhibition ended a couple of days ago.

I went to see that too!! I think my favorite items in the exhibition were the cream pet en l’air in the same case as your redingote, and the embroidery piece behind Marie Antoinette’s dress!
it was so wonderful to see so many lovely things all in one place.

Oh I loved that one too! I forgot to take a photo of it though and now I wish I had.

Lucky you! I really envy you now…
But I have to look at it from the bright side, we have Livrustkammaren here in Sweden and that’s not a bad place to spend a day either.

OMG I just found this blog (thru another blog bien sur) and saw your pictures from Versailles. Do you know how long this exhibit will be and is there a book on the exhibit. I would love to see it. And you my dear looked like you belonged at court with your beautiful blond hair and fab dress!

I’m afraid the exhibition is over now, but there was a book that I’m guessing is still available. It looked great but was expensive and in French so I didn’t buy it. Thanks! :)

Thank you so much for taking pictures of this exhibition and posting them! It’s so wonderful for those of us who couldn’t make it to Europe in time!
