Yet another great museum database, IMATEX is the database of the Textile Museum and Documentation Centre in Terrassa. Lots of amazing 18th century clothes, especially jackets.

Hi,
Amazing jacket!, I really like the 18th century sense of living and of course FASHION! maybe you would like to check my Baroque Images link they are from my first portfolio project as a fashion photographer. I picked the 18th Century cause that’s was a transcendental period for the Human civilization.
Cheers!

Thanks! I rented the costumes from TDF project that is a place where the New York Opera and Broadway houses donate them after their productions closed. They have really nice hand made period costumes and a gorgeous corset collection which is not in the web site , I think it’s nice to see how some people still try to keep the tradition alive by putting so much passion into it, BTW I saw “Les dangerous liaisons” on Broadway Laura Linney played the Marquise de Merteuil and Katrina Lindsay the costume designer won the Tony last year! the gowns were perfectly done they were just right for the entire production context. Do
you what I think it could be cool? if you allow me to say so, since you can read
in Spanish (like I do) this 18th Century blog in some of its corner should have the three biggest voices from the Baroque Literature: Francisco de Quevedo, Luis de Góngora and “la Divina” Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz” yeah! as we well know fashion is not a separate phenomenon from society contrary to what a few people think is not a frivolous discipline Fashion it’s an interesting human reaction to the their contemporaneous situation always a certain warbrobe style from any historic period is going to say a lot about the conceptual way of living at the moment.
