Tidens Tøj

This an “Internet exhibition” of clothes ranging from the 1700s to the 1980s, and they have quite a lot of stuff in the 1700s section. The photos are great and there are even patterns for some of the clothes! The site is in Danish but I think you can figure out the navigation even if you don’t know the language. There are also long descriptions of every garment, but they’re in Danish too of course. You can see the clothes in real life at the Danish national museum.

Hi Johanna!
Awesome that you posted this.
Just a little correction: The clothes aren’t part of an exhibit irl… I doubt most of them are viewable at the museum.

But ah, they are soooo glorious.

But it says on the site “Det er også muligt at se dragterne i virkeligheden. Udstillingen “Krop og Forklædning” findes på Nationalmuseets afdeling i Brede. Udstillingen er åben fra påske til efterårsferien.” Though it does seem to be in another department of the Museum, in Brede, which I’m guessing is another town.

Oh yeah.
I hadn’t seen that.
Thanks.

The clothes are viewable, they have their own section of the museum in Brede.
And yes Brede is another town, the danish national museum has quite a few departmenst around the country.

It’s a nice exhibition irl btw

Thanks so much for this great link!! I have already printed all patterns…

You’re welcome! :)

WOW Johanna.

These patterns were a real gift! I now have them all and hopefully will make something of them. Thanks for the great link.
