Marie Antoinette online.
Marie Antoinette, queen of France.
Many more portraits after the cut.
I tried to put them in somewhat chronological order, and I think most of these are “first hand portraits” and not based on other portraits.

I did a search for François and it’s the same person, I just didn’t know that was his last name :) His full name is apparently François Dumont, so thanks for the help!

The most famous portraits of the Queen are by Mme. Vigee-Lebrun, official court painter to Marie Antoinette during the 1780’s. I absolutely adore ‘Marie Antoinette and Her Children’. I saw two portraits in this lovely collection I had never seen before.

The painting of Marie Antoinette in red that was her mother’s favorite is Portrait of Marie Antoinette in hunting attire, by Joseph Krantzinger (1771), Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna.

Its a miniature by Krantzinger after a portrait of Marie Antoinette aged thirteen and a half, taken in Vienna by the French pastellist Joseph Ducreux in 1769.
