Fantastic blog! Thank you (tack)!
Can I suggest that you check out an 18th century BBC legal drama” Garrows Law”?
Its about William Garrow an 18th century London barrister and legal reformer and has just started its 2nd season (14/11 2010, the 1st season can be had on DVD).
Great costumes, beautiful buildings and great courtroom dramas, with diverse noble people and lowlife frequenting the court as spectators. Besides a handsome and idealistic hero of the enlightenment. Very compelling and highly recomendable.
You can watch the episodes on the BBC website - bbc.co.uk - for about 10 days after each episode aired.

Thank you! And thanks for the tip. I think I heard about this show a while ago but I’ve never seen it.

Hey/Hejsan 18th Century Blog and Johanna!
A tip about a truly beautiful and enormous website.
Here is lots of great and lovely18th century art (and from all other periods up to 1850) and its the absolutely best art site I have ever encountered - lots and lots of artists, paintings, sculpture and architecture, that can be wieved in all kinds of ways and is expanding all the time.

Its the lovechild of two hungarian scientists(!) started while they were students.
They (the founders) definetely deserves to be awarded the ultimate 18th century prize: snuffbox of the year!
As do you!

I found this blog last night while searching for a book on Alexander Roslin. One thing led to another and I ended up here.I`m glad to have found it.It`s as elegant an 18th century website as I could have wished for.Perhaps I should have introduced myself? I`m Aidan from Dublin and I am a member of the Irish Georgian Society.

Hey 18thcenturyblog and Johanna!
On march 12th an exhibition “WATTEAU: THE DRAWINGS” is opening here in London at The Royal Academy of Arts (nearest station Green Park). There will be more than 80 drawings by this great, french rococo master. It is bound to be a beautiful experience. Catch it before it closes June 1st.
Keep up this fine, inspirational site.
