Amadeus by Milos Forman may not be all that accurate when it comes to costuming, or anything else for that matter, but really, who cares in this case. To me it’s one of the best movies ever, with amazing actors, and the overall feel and look is fantastic. There are four more pictures after the cut.

Yes, a very great movie. But the wigs Mozart wore were very bad. It still annoys me to this day.

I saw the BBC documentary and loved it, it was weird in the way they used the grainy 1970s film effect for personal flashbacks, so interesting to see that in an 18th century context. However, the commentary was excellent.

As for the Amadeus movie I loved it, and F. Murray Abraham’s portrayal of Salieri was wonderful.

I don’t remember who played Constanze in Amadeus but she was in a scene with Salieri where she wore an amazing wig; someone created one like it that is perfect. Not many make this style of wig in auburn, but I love it. That wig is here and actually for sale on..

So loving the volume of this!

I have just rewatched ‘Amadeus’ on DVD and was struck again how authentic everything about it is. I think it is the only film of the 18th century I have watched where I really feel as though I am in that actual period.
